How long can I age home-brewed beer in PET (plastic) bottles?
I have three liters of bottle conditioned pale ale that I have not touched since 2005. I am curious, would there be any risk in sampling a bit since they have aged in PET rather than glass bottles? I'm not sure why I've kept them in my fridge for so long, but I can see that the alcohol content is probably quite high since my fridge tends to freeze liquids and the beer has maintained its fluidity.
Too much sugar in home-brew beer?
I ended up using 2lbs 0.9 kilograms of extra sugar in a home brew kit. Called for 3lbs Malt extract or 2lbs corn sugar, I used both. Did not realize it until it was fermenting already. Everything seems to be going as usual. What can I expect out of this five gallons?
